Portals into Higgs vacuum stability

We address the notorious metastability of Standard Model (SM) and promote it to a model building task: What are new ingredients required stabilize SM up Planck scale without encountering sub-Planckian Landau poles? Using extended by vectorlike fermions, we chart out corresponding landscape Higgs stability. find that gauge portal mechanism, triggered charge carriers, opens sizable room for stability in minimally invasive manner. also models with criticality Yukawa portals opening at stronger coupling. Several allow fermions TeV range, which can be searched LHC. For nontrivial flavor structure, severe flavor-changing neutral current constraints arise complement those from push lower fermion masses $\mathcal{O}({10}^{3}\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{TeV})$.

In this work we review the status of tree-level vacuum stability in general two-Higgs doublet models. We also discuss the problem of Normal minima in some classes of potentials. In the most general model with two Higgs doublets, if a minimum that preserves the U(1) em symmetry exists, then charge breaking (CB) minima cannot occur. The depth of the potential at a stationary point that breaks CB or CP, relative to the U(1) em preserving minimum, is proportional to the squared mass of the charged or pseudoscalar Higgs, respectively.
